Kodoani.com – MangaGamer announced on Friday during its panel at Anime Central that it has licensed the Steam Prison – Beyond the Steam by HuneX, sequel to the otome fandisc game Steam Prison, and will release it in English worldwide for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and MangaGamer. The company will release the PC version this year.

Steam Prison – Beyond the Steam features two new stories featuring heroine Cyrus. “A New Theory” is an alternate story in which Sachsen is the one who meets Cyrus instead of Ines, leading to her involvement with HOUNDS. This story includes a new romantic ending with Saxony. “The Story of Cainabel” follows the “Big Ending” of the original Steam Prison. Cyrus and her party travel to the desert kingdom of Cainabel, where Cyrus meets the friendly young king Jevite or the elderly king Jereme.
The next game includes three new romantic characters, three different main scenarios and dozens of endings. There are also unlockable rewards, a new Petit Prison spot-the-difference mini-game, and a marriage feature.
MangaGamer has released an otome game Steam Prison original for PC in 2019 and describes the story as follows:
“There are people in this world who are lucky enough to enjoy the safety, luxury, and comfort within their beautiful, utopian city, which has sweeping views of the devastated surface that lies far beyond. under their shelter. The rest did not matter. When our heroine left the protection of the Heights to carry out her police duties in The Depths below, she was greeted with a violent, destitute world of hard-working, corrupt individuals. Can she reconcile the world she knows with this world as it is now? Who lives below or participates in their contempt? Can she bear the truth being exposed under her watch?”
The game received a Switch version in 2021. The game is fully voiced with Japanese audio and English text. HuneX crowdfunded the game for PlayStation Vita and Windows PC in 2017.
