Apparently this is the original Naruto image that was inspired by the meme above.
Reportedly, Sasuke Bad Drawing began to gain popularity in 2017 when a user posted on the Amino app. Specifically on May 2, 2017, user Amino Otaku Com Altismo retweeted an edit parodying Sasuke’s “thought pose” by an unknown author (pictured above left). Then on December 29, 2017, another edit by an unknown author was also posted on 9GAG and scored more than 90 points (top right).
Since then, this sad-faced Sasuke image has changed dramatically and appeared a lot. Now there are even 3D color drawings for Sasuke Bad Drawing. Who would have thought that Sasuke’s cold, thoughtful face in Naruto when hand-drawn by fans (and not so pretty!) would become such a popular meme!
