After One Piece chapter 1036 came out, we saw more similarities between Zoro and King What is it? Take a look below!
1. A promise not to lose with the captain
There is a flashback at the beginning of chapter 1036 that shows King making a promise to his captain Kaido that “I promise never to lose until you become the Pirate King.” Oda then continued to place Zoro’s flashback next to King’s flashback.
We get to see Zoro’s moment after losing to Mihawk, where he promised Luffy that “Until the day I beat him to become the first swordsman, I will never lose. Opinion what’s wrong… Pirate King?”
Apparently Zoro and King both made similar promises to their captains. And there is only one person who has kept this promise during the war at Onigashima, and that is Zoro.
2. My position in the pirate crew
In the Straw Hats, Roronoa Zoro is usually second to Luffy. Although there is no hierarchy in the Straw Hats, many people mistakenly think Zoro is the crew’s lieutenant. Even when there is a big battle, Zoro is always the one to fight the second strongest in the opponent’s crew. Even during the battle at Onigashima, this was true. Zoro fought alone with the strongest Catastrophe, the 2nd in the Beast Pirates, King. Meanwhile, Sanji fights Queen and Jinbe fights Who’s-Who.
In the Beasts crew, King is just behind Kaido. Even in terms of strength, King feels superior to Queen let alone Jack.
3. Have faith that their captain will become the Pirate King
Zoro believes that Luffy will become the Pirate King in the future and King also believes that Kaido will become the Pirate King. Basically, both of them have the same beliefs and are both extremely powerful warriors in the ice.
4. They’re both swordsmen
Zoro and King both use swords to fight. However, Zoro is actually a swordsman, most of his techniques are swordsmanship. Meanwhile, despite having a sword, King sometimes still likes to use his legs, wings or head to attack.
Above are 4 similarities between Zoro and King in One Piece. What do you think about them? Let’s share!
