The Yin Pillar Tengen Uzui has been highlighted in the Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2 anime. Here, let’s find out interesting information around this “flashy” guy!
1. Born into a shinobi family
Tengen is one of the nine surviving children of the shinobi lineage. However, his seven siblings died when he was 15 years old, leaving only him and the second youngest brother. However, according to Daki, shinobi should have been extinct since the Edo period. The Tengen family is also very brutal. The father’s harsh training made the younger brother become like his father, not caring about anyone’s life and using humans as tools.
Not wanting to be like his younger brother, Tengen has left the clan, he instructs his women that they should value their lives first, innocent civilians second and him last. me – their husband. Though that was the complete opposite of what they were trained as Shinobi.
According to Kimetsu no Yaiba Fanbook 2 Taisho Rumors: Pillars, Tengen once thought about whether he should destroy all of his clan. But in the end he couldn’t kill his father and younger brother.
2. Has three wives
Tengen Uzui is a lucky young man who gets married and lives happily with three beautiful women, Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru. Since the age of 15, Tengen has been married and having multiple wives alone is a tradition of the Uzui clan. Tengen’s three wives were chosen by the head of the Uzui clan. These three wives appeared in the plot of the Red Light district.
3. Owner of the title Hashira Suara
Tengen Uzui is a high-ranking Demon Hunter and the Yin Pillar of the Demon Slayer team. Like the other pillars, Tengen also has extremely special powers and skills, making him able to fight on par with a High Xuan Nguyet Demon. The breath technique used only by Uzui Tengen is a breath technique that branched off from the Breath of Thunder, known as the Breath of Sound.
The key to Tengen’s technique is that by listening to his enemies’ rhythms and movements, he can predict their movements and then find openings for him to exploit. To promote his technique, Tengen wields two very unique swords. In fact, in chapter 77, the narrator explains that no one knows how this sword works because those who were hit did not survive.
4. One of the Pillars had to retire because he became “invalids”
Tengen Uzui is featured prominently in the Red Light District storyline. Although he had a great performance here, his martial arts career ended at the end of the storyline.
When facing Daki and Gyutaro, Tengen Uzui lost his left eye and left hand. This caused Tengen to retire and not be as strong a pillar as before. Because Tengen’s fighting style is the use of two swords, the loss of one hand makes it impossible for Tengen to use his technique perfectly. But he could still train a younger generation of Demon Slayers.
5. One of the Pillars did not participate in the final battle
Due to early retirement, the Yin Pillar Tengen was unable to participate in the final battle against Muzan and his minions. His job in the final plot is to guard Kiriya Ubuyashiki’s room with Shinjuro Rengoku. Until the end of the battle, he was safe there.
6. One of the characters that survived until the end of the manga
Many of the main characters of Kimetsu no Yaiba have died, including the Demon Hunter faction and the Demon faction. Tengen’s absence from the final battle keeps him alive.
Of the nine Pillars of Tanjiro’s era, six have died as the story progresses. Five of them died fighting in the Infinity Fortress until the battle against Muzan. Since Tengen did not participate in this battle, he is also one of the characters that can survive until the complete end of the series.
7. The Uzui clan continues into the modern era
Chapter 205 Kimetsu no Yaiba shows that the Uzui clan has continued to advance into the modern era. Tengen’s descendant in modern times is named Tenma Uzui. He is an Olympic gold medalist for Japan. But he also had behavior problems, and is said to have raised his middle finger and strangled reporters.
