After 3 years of dating, the 78-year-old man in the Philippines married an 18-year-old girl who was also his first love.
Rashed Mangacop, an ordinary farmer. Although he is 78 years old this year, he recently married and married an 18-year-old girl named Halima Abdullah. Three years ago, the two met at a party in a village in Cagayan province, northeast of the main island of Luzon, and have been dating ever since.
Ben Mangacop, one of Rashed’s grandchildren, confirmed that he had never had a girlfriend or been married, even in his youth, before meeting the 18-year-old girl. Therefore, it can be considered that Halima Abdullah was his first love.
Coincidentally, Mr. Rashed is also the first love of young Halima Abdullah.
According to relatives, this 78-year-old man quickly fell in love when he first met the 18-year-old girl. They have been dating for 3 years straight and officially married according to tradition on August 25.
The old man’s nephew, Ben, recounted:
“My grandfather first met Halima at a party held in the village, the party organizer was her father who also worked for my grandfather.”
Rashed and Halima are both single, so they can legally get married. The family also congratulated the couple.
The old man’s family insisted that this was not an arranged or other purpose wedding, which is very common in Muslim countries:
“They married with true and sweet love.”
Under Philippine law, people under the age of 21 can legally marry, but with parental supervision and consent.
