The June issue of Kadokawa, Alive Comic magazine will have a new manga prequel for Asato’s 86 light novel series, titled 86 – Fragmental Neoteny.
The listing does not give a description of the manga. The magazine will publish on April 26. Yen Press is distributing the light novel series in English, and it describes the story:
The Republic of San Magnolia has been attacked by its neighbor, the Empire. Outside the 85 counties of the Republic, there is ‘the 86th district that does not exist’, where young men and women continue to fight. Sheen directs the actions of young suicide bombers, while Lena is the “in charge” of commanding a detachment from the far rear. The story of the tragic struggle between these two begins!
Asato published the novel series under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint in April 2017. Shirabi is drawing the illustrations, and the I-IV artist is responsible for the planning.
