The director took to Twitter to share the news with fans.
Kodoani.com – Vinland Saga revolves around the main character Thorfinn and his desire to get revenge on Askeladd, who killed his father. The adventure series is one of Wit Studio’s most popular anime and was broadcast in July 2019. However, new information suggests that the studio may no longer be in charge of the adaptation.
The production Vineland Saga of Wit Studio is considered by many to be a success. But new information from director Shuhei Yabuta has confirmed that MAPPA will take over the series’ second season. The manga is considered to have been well adapted by Wit Studio in its first season, allowing viewers to experience the series’ historical story.
Rumors about the studio being subject to change have been circulating on Twitter and other social media platforms without official confirmation to verify accuracy. Finally, with official information from relevant sources, Makoto Yukimura, the manga author, and Shuhei Yabuta, the series director, who discussed with fans on the Twitter space, confirmed the news of the studio change and reveal more details about the series.

The director and mangaka also commented that despite the studio’s change, the original staff responsible for producing the first season will still take over the second. As a result, there will be little to no change in animation quality, unlike the Attack on Titan: Shingeki no Kyojin saga, where The Final Season showcases a drastic change in animation style. The duo also revealed that the studio is currently working on a second season trailer, so a trailer is expected to roll out soon, possibly in the next few months. Furthermore, they also mentioned that the voice cast is doing voiceover work for the upcoming season.
Vinland Saga’s latest manga chapter has fans excited for the possible prospects of the series it offers. However, Vinland Saga manga author Yukimura revealed that the chapter only serves as a prelude to something bigger and darker. Yukimura said that fans shouldn’t get too excited as the next chapter will be full of heartache and anguish.
Mappa’s handling of Season Two could be good news for some fans and bad news for others, especially for viewers who don’t feel like Attack on Titan Final Season. However, despite AOT’s unappreciated changes by some fans, MAPPA’s Jujutsu Kaisen, Kakegurui, and Dororo adaptations are still great.
