The official Twitter account for Square Enix’s Manga Up announced on Wednesday that Kayaharuka’s manga is getting a light novel adaptation. The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants (Maou Gakuin no Futekigōsha ~Shijō Saikyō no Maō no Shiso, Tensei Shite Shison-tachi no Gakko e Kayo) canceled due to Kayaharuka being treated for pancreatic cancer.
In a statement posted on the Twitter account, Kayaharuka added that they have known about the cancer since September 2019. Kayaharuka said while they regret that the manga had to end this way, they will cherish it. time working with it.
Square Enix is publishing the manga in English and it describes the story:

An adaptation of Kayaharuka’s manga launched in July 2018 in Square Enix’s Manga Up!, and Square Enix published the fourth volume on March 5. Square Enix published the third volume in English on March 26. January.
Shu launched the novel series on the Shousetsu ni Narō website in April 2017. Kadokawa is publishing the novel series with illustrations by Yoshinori Shizuma and will publish the 10th volume on August 6.
There was an anime adaptation in May 2020. The second season is slated to air in split cours (first quarter).
