The official website for Muteking the Dancing Hero, the anime reboot of the Todemo Senshi anime gag, began streaming a new video clip for the show on Tuesday. The video contains the song “Jasmine” by “super artist” Aurora in the show. Rinne Yoshida performed the theme song.
The anime will premiere on TV Osaka and TV Aichi on October 2, and on Tokyo MX and on BS NTV on October 3. The anime will star:

Tatsunoko Pro is credited with original work, and Utomaru (THINKR) is credited with original character designs. Hiroshi Sasagawa (Tondemo Senshi Muteking episode director) is the executive director, and Ryousuke Takahashi (Cyborg 009) is the director. Yuuzou Satou (CGI director for Flowers of Evil , C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility) is directing the anime, and Masafumi Sato (director Denki-Gai) is an assistant director and combat dance director. Tatsunoko Pro and Tezuka Productions are producing the anime. Yūji Kondōu (Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File, The Snack World) is supervising the series’ scripts, and Takamitsu Shimazaki (Hakushon Daimaō 2020) and Takeshi Masuda are composing the music.
Orange Range will perform the opening theme song “Labyrinth” and KALMA will perform the ending theme song “Kibō no Uta” (Song of Hope).
The original anime aired for 56 episodes in 1980-1981 and has not received an English release. The anime is set in a city modeled after San Francisco at the time, and features a protagonist who can transform into “Muteking” to fight off evil aliens. Anime is known for its novel design and music.
The project’s official website describes the anime reboot as a “sci-fi hero romantic comedy.”
