Logitech has finally revealed its handheld gaming device. This machine uses the Android platform and with the name Logitech G Cloud, this giant hopes to be able to capture the mobile gaming market share. However, with what appeared after many months of leaks, the reaction of gamers can make Logitech feel … down.
First of all, Logitech G Cloud is a cloud gaming device. Many people think that Logitech G Cloud does not have a strong, expensive configuration and is only for certain audiences. Logitech G Cloud uses Logitech’s custom Android interface. In terms of technical specifications, this device is also not outstanding. Specifically, Logitech G Cloud uses Snapdragon 720G processor, only 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of memory. Fortunately, this device has a memory expansion slot that uses MicroSD.
However, this Logitech device does not need to use too much memory. The reason is that Logitech G Cloud is designed for live gaming by the cloud storage system. Logitech G Cloud can use services such as Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now.
On the other hand, Logitech clearly does not intend to turn this machine into a true mobile gaming device. Simply put, it does not support SIM cards. Gamers can only play using WiFi connection, not 4G or 5G.
With too weak configuration specifications, Logitech G Cloud is expected to have a pleasant price. However, with about $ 350 (equivalent to more than 8 million VND), Logitech G Cloud is much more expensive than gamers want. For comparison, the Nintendo Switch starts at $299. Meanwhile, the “desirable” device is the Steam Deck with a starting price of $ 399, only $ 50 more expensive than the Logitech G Cloud, while the experience brought to gamers is much better. Therefore, Logitech G Cloud has almost no reason to compete with the two devices mentioned above.
