Quentin Tarantino is the next Hollywood director to speak out against Marvel’s superhero movies.
In the latest interview, Quentin Tarantino continues to surprise the audience with his views on Hollywood art and cinema. In it, the “monster” director said that Marvel’s actors should not be called real movie stars.
Specifically, the Oscar winner said that Disney studios are “Marvelizing” Hollywood movies. “I don’t hate them either,” he said.
“I used to collect Marvel comics when I was a kid,” Quentin began explaining his point.
“There’s this aspect of it, if the Marvel movies come out in my 20s, I’ll be super happy and love it. I mean at that point, Marvel wouldn’t be the only movies. We’ll have more options,” continued Quentin, “But now that I’m almost 60 years old, I’m no longer excited about these movies. The problem is that the franchise is on the rise. represent the entire current cinematic era”.
As the conversation continued, the “old” Hollywood director continued to redirect and share his views on the actors in the Marvel movies. In it, he said that the “Marvelization” of Hollywood helps actors become more famous for playing superhero characters. However, he thinks they are not movie stars.
“Captain America is the star, Thor is the star. I’m certainly not the first to say this. It’s franchise characters who become stars, not actors,” concluded Quentin Tarantino.
Before Quentin, many famous Hollywood directors also criticized Marvel movies, including legendary director Francis Ford Coppola and Hollywood’s “big tree” Martin Scorsese.
