At Worlds 2022, EDward Gaming was probably the team that was the biggest disappointment. Going to the tournament as the defending champion, EDG played extremely badly and were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
The most underrated player in the EDward Gaming roster at the last tournament was Flandre. With a series of forehand champions like Jayce, Graves… no longer being used in the Top Lane position, Flandre gradually becomes a weakness for opponents to exploit. So at the transfer stage, the EDG team is very active in recruiting a player to use more champions in the Top lane position.
According to the latest shares of Doinb, the name EDward Gaming is targeting is Ale. LNG’s current Mid laner shared that Ale is definitely leaving and is looking to join a big team in the upcoming 2023 season.
“Ale is about to join a new team, the contract is almost done. I can’t guarantee anything but the terms of the contract are complete. He will play for the team you guys are talking about. today (EDG)” – Doinb shared on live broadcast.
Up to now, EDward Gaming has only had one loss in terms of force, which is the departure of Viper. The addition of Ale will help EDG own a Top laner who can use dozens of different types of champions, serving a variety of tactics. Hopefully EDG will soon find a qualified AD carry to replace Viper and regain his peak form.
