Most of episode 7 of My Dress-up Darling is Marin feeling worried about her love and omurice for Wakana.
Entering Marin’s world is definitely a great way to expand Wakana’s doll-making knowledge. Now, it’s not just giving the guy a chance to practice his skills in another way, such as applying makeup and creating outfits that match real people. In other words, Wakana was unconsciously discovering new things… like learning how to use the camera to help take pictures.
Of course, doing so meant that he didn’t have much time to spend just honing his skills with Hina dolls, but his grandfather assured him that he was improving greatly. good. Wakana’s doll face lines, for example, are no longer hard, they become softer thanks to these new experiences.
Interest in the camera surfaced when Sajuna changed her mind and agreed to do a group photo session when Marin and Wakana offered to cover a portion of the studio costs. Her younger sister Shinju, who took pictures for Sajuna, agreed to teach Wakana and Marin how to use the camera. Although surprised, even though she was in middle school, she could easily be mistaken for an older person because of her height and massive breasts.
It’s quite interesting to see how Wakana rolls around with Marin’s hobby. He’s unprepared, but still feels happy to be a part of this colorful world. That’s a pretty big step up when Wakana didn’t feel like she had anything in common with anyone before, but that’s changed since Marin stepped in.
Also interestingly, while Wakana is always delving into the characters and their costumes, he also becomes enamored with their stories. We saw it when Wakana talked about playing through Slipper Girls 1 and 2 and what touched him, or how he cried while reading Flower Princess Blaze. It’s funny to see Wakana give an emotional turn to a series about magical girls, surprisingly it has less magic and involves more fighting. In fact, episode 7 My Dress-up Darling brought quite a lot of Flower Princess Blaze to the screen.
Also, most of episode 7 of My Dress-up Darling is Marin feeling worried about her love for Wakana. She was seriously focused on creating the omurice for Wakana, but it didn’t go exactly as planned. While enjoying the food, it’s good that Wakana didn’t mention that he thought it was just fried rice because that would have been another stab to Marin’s heart. Haha!
I feel like I’ve mentioned this a hundred times, so I’ll try to make this the last time I speak, but it’s insane that Marin’s concerns and priorities lie in where she is self-conscious about it.
Marin wasn’t wearing a bra when she opened the door to meet Wakana and the first thing she thought of was that she wasn’t wearing contact lenses. Marin doesn’t look much different without makeup, but that’s the least of her worries, since Wakana always sees her bare face when he does the makeup. Though I suppose that could also be why Marin isn’t self-aware about not wearing a bra when Wakana comes over to play. Because he took all her measurements.
Next week, we’ll learn more about studio locations, cameras, and shoots!
