T1’s ambition to win the LCK Spring 2023 with undefeated record was poured into cold water after Faker and his teammates received a surprising defeat against HLE.
Before week 3 of the 2023 LCK Spring Split took place, HLE was a relatively underrated team. Despite owning many stars, HLE’s performance in the previous 2 weeks was quite disappointing. So when facing T1 (the team that is at the top of the rankings), many people thought that HLE would continue to receive defeat. However, at the most difficult time, stars like Viper, Zeka spoke up at the right time. In particular, Kingen had an acting performance to help the home team beat T1 with a score of 2-1.
T1 suddenly lost their unbeaten streak against the declining HLE
In the opposite direction, the T1 players are not in their best form. When asked about the reason for the defeat against HLE, Faker frankly shared:
“We didn’t prepare well for today’s match. Besides, we didn’t show the desire to win and made a lot of macro errors. That was the reason for our defeat. .
HLE is extremely determined to find a win, while we are flying high on an undefeated streak. I feel like we haven’t kept our cool.”
Faker: We lacked the desire to win and couldn’t keep a cool head
However, the Demon King has learned the following lessons after losing the winning streak since the beginning of the season until now:
“Going into the game today, the whole team agreed that we would try to experiment with new, unique picks in the meta. I believe this will help us gather a lot of valuable information. .
We don’t have much time for the game against NS. We need to prepare more carefully, and at the same time make sure the whole team stays at a high level.”
T1 will face Nongshim Redforce at 3:30 p.m. on February 4. After parting with a series of pillars, NS is currently falling to the bottom of the table with only 1 win after 5 rounds. If they win against NS, Faker and his teammates will reclaim the top spot from Gen.G.
