In the history of League of Legends, there is no shortage of famous names who were punished by Riot, leading to their careers being affected, even dissipating their efforts. Among these are extremely famous names, such as Jensen (who was fined for more than a year for performing DDOS) or Dopa (banned from professional competition for plowing). In Vietnam, it can be mentioned Zeros and Minas – 2 players who were banned globally, one for cheating and the other for betting).
…or the Zeros brothers – the “illustrious” characters in the village were punished by Riot
But recently, another character really made the LoL community stir. This person’s “achievement” even the Dopas or Zeros might have to be called “teacher”. The character mentioned is Koseko – a coach in charge of the Maroon Bells team playing in Ultraliga – the 2nd division of Europe. Specifically, according to information from the homepage of Riot Games, Koseko has committed a total of 4 extremely serious crimes: toxic behavior, elo buffs, cheating and letting others use his account.
Koseko – the main character of the article with 4 extremely serious crimes: toxic in the game, buff elo, cheating, sharing accounts with others
Normally, just committing 1 of these 4 crimes, if you are a professional League of Legends player, you will definitely have to take a break from playing for a long time. In particular, cheating is a taboo in all sports, not just Esports. As for account sharing, DWG KIA’s Canyon was also sentenced for this behavior right in the 2021 World Championship.
Canyon also received a fine for sharing accounts
But all Koseko had to receive was a one-year suspension from work, until February 16, 2023. It can be said that Koseko’s punishment is too light compared to the previous individuals who received sentences from Riot.
Immediately, Koseko’s incident ignited the anger from the League of Legends community as well as led to countless conflicting opinions. Accordingly, a part of fans said that, although officially suspended for 1 year, Koseko’s career will have stains and be considered to have ended. But others said that this penalty was only “for yes” while Dopa – a player who can be considered a very famous player of the LCK was banned from playing for a long time, about 6 years. And despite her best efforts, after that, Dopa had to give up her professional dream.
Some people think that 1 year is enough to end a career
But the majority thought the punishment was too light, while Dopa was banned for up to 6 years just for plowing
It’s not clear if Riot gave Koseko a too light punishment or because Ultraliga is a small tournament and Riot underestimates the damage caused by Koseko. However, Riot’s “light” punishment can really make fans lose confidence in this NPH in handling violations related to League of Legends.
