After Apple relaxed its policy of allowing classic game emulators, developer Riley Testut has launched a new emulator, called Delta. This is a completely free emulator on the App Store, allowing gamers to download and play a number of Nintendo games over the years.
In a blog post, Testut revealed Delta serves as the successor to GBA4iOS, providing support for many Nintendo games that appeared on GameBoy, NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, N64 and Nintendo DS. As for Nintendo Switch games, Delta cannot provide them yet.
The Delta app is available for free download at official Apple stores worldwide, including the United States. Those in the EU can download it through AltStore PAL, a third-party marketplace launched thanks to the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA), which allows third-party app stores to be hosted in the App Store.
Although Delta is not the first Nintendo emulator to appear on the Apple App Store, it has many advantages that other applications do not have. For example, Delta has a huge game store, supports a variety of iPhone models from low to high, and does not charge users…
In the past, Nintendo has repeatedly used legal tools to sue their game emulators. However, with Delta, the Japanese game publisher has not yet made any moves.
