Babylon’s Fall developer Platinum Games just released a battle mechanics trailer ahead of the demo’s launch.
Developer Platinum Games has revealed the secrets behind Babylon’s battle system, featuring new mechanics aimed at changing and disrupting the genre. With Babylon’s Fall set to be released early next month, the game’s developer released a video that focuses entirely on the game’s combat poses. The short video is intended to introduce players to the game’s innovative combat mechanics, which are at the heart of what Platinum Games wants viewers to understand and enjoy.
Developed by Platinum Games, a studio known for its already famous hack-and-slash action games like Bayonetta, Vanquish and Nier: Automata. Babylon’s Fall is an upcoming third-person action role-playing game. Players must fight their way through different levels of the Ziggurat tower, a tower attacked and cursed by enemies, where you will fight using different weapons and powers, You can play alone or join up with up to three other players to team up to battle in the game.
The trailer gives a close-up look at Babylon’s Fall’s fighting style, starting with the different types of weapons players can wield. Swords are perfect for speed combos, while hammers are capable of powering up a hit and dealing massive damage to all enemies. Or for a long-range approach, Bow or Magic will be a great choice to be able to take down the dead from a distance, and provide buffs for players near you. Finally, the shield is used to block all enemy attacks, or to taunt the enemy. This is probably an interesting option when playing Co-op with friends.
However, Babylon’s Fall’s main innovation is the so-called Gideon Coffin, a magical device that allows any player to use special abilities. Jewels allow the use of up to four weapons at once, as well as the use of special powers and spells, all of which can be combined to the player’s liking. Babylon’s Fall’s Gideon Coffin promises to enhance replay value and get you to the pinnacle of the game’s battle system.
Platinum Games’ most popular hack-and-slash games often combine action with compelling storytelling to serve up an emotional and engaging single-player experience. However, with Babylon’s Fall, everything is focused on the combat mechanism. The game seems to have a lot of focus on co-op, focusing on fighting ever stronger enemies with friends, while winning many other cool loot.
Ahead of the official launch the developer will be releasing a demo for Babylon’s Fall which will be released tomorrow, although only on Playstation 4 5. Babylon’s Fall will release on Windows, Playstation 4 and 5 next March 3rd.
