Kana Hanazawa, Misaki Kuno, Satoshi Mikami, Shuka Saitō join the cast
Kodoani.com – Official website of the TV anime manga Akebi’s Sailor Uniform (Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku) of HIRO posted a second trailer and a promotional video on Saturday. The video announced the additional cast and revealed the opening song.
The newly announced cast members are:
Kana Hanazawa as Yuwa, mother of Komichi Akebi
Misaki Kuno as Kao, the younger sister of Komichi Akebi
Satoshi Mikami as Sato, the father of Komichi Akebi
Shuka Saitō as Miki Fukumoto, an idol that Komichi admires
The 16 members of Komichi Akebi perform the opening theme song “Hajimari no Setsuna” (First Moment), as heard in the video above. Katsuhiko Sugiyama wrote, recorded, and arranged the song after doing the same for Nogizaka46 and other musical artists.
In addition, the anime debuted a music video promoting visuals for idol Miki Fukumoto, and a video featuring her insert song “hem”.
The anime will premiere on January 8 on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, BS11, and MBS, and will premiere on January 9 on BS Asahi. Voice actors Manatsu Murakami, Sora Amamiya, and Shion Wakayama will appear in a special show that will be streamed live on YouTube on December 18. There will also be pre-screenings on December 25 in Tokyo and September 2. December 26 in Osaka.

Miyuki Kuroki (Her Blue Sky, The Idolm @ ster SideM) is directing the anime at studio CloverWorks. Rino Yamazaki (Medaka Box producer, FRANXX DARLING scriptwriter) wrote and supervised the series’ scripts, and Megumi Kouno (FRANXX DARLING animation director, Fate / Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front) : Babylonia) is designing the characters. Kana Utatane is composing music.
The series follows Komichi Akebi and her classmates at a prestigious all-girls high school, following their lives and growing up in adolescence.
HIRO launched the manga in 2019 on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website. The manga’s ninth compiled book volume was published on October 19. The manga has more than 500,000 copies in print.
