A brand new Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball: Daima, has been confirmed and will launch in fall 2024.
Akira Toriyama has moved on to provide general narrative direction and character designs for many of the series’ projects in recent years. But for Dragon Ball Daima — Toei’s new animated series — the legendary mangaka will have the full participation of the creator of the work.
At this year’s New York Comic Con, Toei Animation announced that they are working on Dragon Ball Daima, a new anime series that will see some classic Dragon Ball Z characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma transformed into children. child is similar to how Goku became a child in Dragon Ball GT.
In a discussion about the new chapter, executive producer Akio Iyoku described Toriyama as “more deeply involved than he would normally be” in the production process and joked that he “had planned for Brand new episodes for the storyline.”
While Toei hasn’t shared many details about Daima yet, it did release a new trailer that makes it seem like the movie will go the long route with a villain who knows about Goku’s long history in various Dragon Ball anime and manga. For unclear reasons, almost everyone who appears appears to be a child, and even though the reason is that someone used the Dragon Balls to hope for that to happen, the trailer leaves it open to see who that person is. Who could it be?
Plot details or not, the animation in the trailer is beautiful, and Toriyama’s involvement is a sign that Dragon Ball Daima’s story might be a bit more engaging than GT’s. when it launches next fall.
