Recently, a crowdfunding website has canceled fan fundraising activities for Amber Heard following her lawsuit against Johnny Depp.
GoFundMe – a crowdfunding site wasted no time in scouring bad actors trying to make money after the trial Johnny Depp and Amber Heard … remove a fake $1 million fundraising campaign claiming to raise money for Amber to pay Johnny the damages.
Not long after the verdict between the two was announced, a fundraiser, led by a man named Kimberly Moore founded, was established to help Amber. Moore claims to have contacted her legal team and swears Amber will have direct access to any successful donations.
The fundraiser’s description reads, “I believe Amber and social media have protected abusers. The sentence was too harsh for her. It’s sad that Johnny can get away with punishment. The sentencing affected that punishment. If you can help her, please donate.
However, a GoFundMe spokesperson said it flagged the profile for quick validation – before a significant amount of money was raised. It was determined that it wasn’t Amber and anyone on her team that created the page… and it was scrapped shortly after.
Of course, Heard is order payable to Depp $8.35 million … even though her team has said they will appeal. Amber’s lawyer said the actress not possible yet pay the verdict, but she certainly won’t set up a GoFundMe, or another fundraiser for it.
