Saigon Buffalo will in turn meet MAD Lions, RNG at 4:00 am on Sunday (2/10), 8:00 am on Monday (3/10).
Saigon Buffalo (SGB) is level with MAD Lions (MAD) 2-1, temporarily second in the table just behind DRX 3-0. RNG ranked 4th with 1-1 points, they will meet 2 bottom teams Isurus, Istanbul Wildcats before the final match against SGB.
MAD over 3 matches, the team chose over and over again Aatrox, Trundle, Taliyah, Kai’Sa and tank/fighter support champions. MAD is a team that lacks stability for the duration of a match, plays poorly in macros, is awkward when put at a disadvantage, and breaks small champions.
MAD’s strength is having equally talented players, regardless of the star or the player carrying the team. They have been playing together since the end of 2020 until now, except for the mid laner Nisqy, who joined the team in May 2022.
SGB has a large champion pool, diverse gameplay, they will take advantage of this to create an advantage in the pick and ban phase. MAD’s style of play prefers to revolve around the Baron cave rather than push the tower, many times MAD recklessly eats Baron even when the opponent is still capable of contention. This is where the SGB can recruit MAD to fight or trade for other goals. MAD is quite weak late, if SGB is at a disadvantage at first, can try to buy time to wait for an opportunity to appear.

RNG is the opposite of MAD, RNG is a master of late, the back/defensive strategy has helped RNG win the LPL Spring 2022 to have a place in MSI 2022 and win this tournament. In the spring, RNG changed the top lane, Breathe replaced Bin but the 1:4 gameplay remained the same.
The match SGB vs RNG is the last match of the first stage of the group stage, if RNG stumbles in the match against Istanbul Wildcats, they are even more determined to beat SGB to be in the second stage of the group stage. RNG seemed to adapt to the meta very quickly, in the match against DRX they chose a short-handed team, losing to DRX. In the next match, against MAD, they chose a long-arm formation and revolved around the gunner instead of the 2 spears that caused damage like the previous match.
Mid laner Xiaohu is down, his KDA is only 3/8/19 after 2 games. Perhaps this is the only weakness of RNG that SGB should exploit to find a winning path. In MSI 2022, SGB faced RNG twice and lost both. However, SGB had 1 match that almost won RNG, SGB was more than money, ate Baron, touched RNG’s top laner. But in the end SGB lost by 5v5 phases after 30 minutes.
In this rematch, SGB must not be afraid of RNG, but SGB also sees this as an opportunity to reclaim the debt at MSI 2022.
