Kodoani.com – A new website opened on Friday to announce the new stage play adaptation of the anime series. anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, will take place August 9-15 at the Hakuhinkan Theater in Tokyo. The website also revealed the cast and staff of the new play.
New and returning cast members include:
Takuya Kawaharada as Jinta “Jintan” Yadomi Miori Ichikawa as Meiko “Menma” Honma (return from stage play 2021) Nashiko Momotsuki as Naruko “Anaru” Anjō (return from stage play 2021) Ikumi Isaka as Atsumu “Yukiatsu” Matsuyuki Yuri Komagata as Chiriko “Tsuruko” Tsurumi Yuki Suga as Tetsudō “Poppo” Hisakawa Masato Ichinose as Satoshi Honma Ryo Saika as Irène Honma Mitsu Murata as Manabu Honma Chisa Yokoyama as Tōko Yadomi (returning from stage play 2021) LaSalle Ishii as Atsushi Yadomi
Masafumi Hata will return from the previous stage play anohana to write the script and also direct the play. Shōnen T’s Tomohisa Sakō will also return to compose the music. Yoshirō Kataoka and Seiya Keichō again staged the play.
Pre-sale of tickets will begin in late June, and general ticket sales will begin in mid-July.
The anime’s first stage play adaptation premiered in February 2021.
The television anime premiered in April 2011, about childhood friends trying to reconnect in high school, after being separated due to tragedy five years ago. The series inspired a manga, a sequel to the 2013 film, and a 2015 live-action special.
