The first season of the anime premiered in April 2021, aired for 25 episodes
Kodoani.com – The official Twitter account of the anime series Edens Zero revealed on Wednesday that the anime will get a second season.
The anime’s official Twitter account previously announced in October that “The adventures of Shiki and his friends will continue.”
The anime premiered in Japan in April 2021 and aired for 25 episodes. The anime begins streaming on Netflix outside of Japan on August 26.
Shinji Ishihara (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon) is the main anime director at JC Staff, and Yūshi Suzuki (Fairy Tail season 3 episode director) is the anime director. Suzuki passed away on September 9. Mitsutaka Hirota (Zoids Wild, Rent-A-Girlfriend) is supervising and writing the scripts for the anime series, and Yurika Sako is designing the characters.
Author Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail, Rave Master) launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in June 2018. Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in English both in print and digitally. The company describes the story:
In Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned amusement park, Shiki has lived her whole life among machines. But one day, Rebecca and her cat friend Happy appeared at the front gate of the park. Little did these newcomers know that this was the first time humans had come into contact with Granbell in a hundred years! When Shiki happens to befriend new friends, his old neighbors stir up the opportunity for a cyborg rebellion… And when his old hometown becomes too dangerous, Shiki must join Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless universe.
The series also adapted a 3D action RPG for consoles and RPGs on mobile platforms. Konami is developing the game.
