Kodoani.com – Main website for anime television series adapted from manga “Girlfriend, Girlfriend” (Kanojo mo Kanojo) by Hiroyuki officially posted a promotional video announcing the second season of the anime. The video revealed the premiere date for the second season to be October 6, along with the introduction of the anime’s second season. introduced the opening theme song “Dramatic ni Koi Shitai” (I Want to Fall in Love Dramatively) by singer Hikari Codama.The anime website also announced that the second season’s ending theme is “Forira” by ClariS.
The second season of “Girlfriend, Girlfriend” will be broadcast by Animeism on MBS, TBS and BS-TBS channels in Japan. The first broadcast will take place at 2:28 a.m. JST on MBS and TBS.
This new season will feature a new staff and studio, along with some returning cast members. The director for the second season will be Takatoshi Suzuki (episode director “A Couple of Cuckoos”, “The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These”) at studio Synergy SP. Keiichirō Ōchi will continue to oversee the script, along with Kazuhiko Inukai (Cardfight!! Vanguard G). Shouko Hagiwara will be in charge of character design. Musicians Kanade Sakuma (“I’m the villain, so I tame the final boss”), Tatsuhiko Saiki (“Girlfriend, Girlfriend”), Miki Sakurai (“My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!”) and Junko Nakajima (“The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior”) will create the music for the second season in collaboration with Nichion and Myrica Music.
Aoi Koga will continue to voice the character Risa Hoshizaki in the anime.
The first season of the anime premiered in July 2021. The anime stars Junya Enoki as Naoya Mukai, Ayane Sakura as Saki Saki, Azumi Waki as Nagisa Minase, Ayana Taketatsu as Rika Hoshizaki and Rie Takahashi as Shino Kiryū.
Manga “Girlfriend, Girlfriend” by Hiroyuki was published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from March 2020 to May 24.
