Kodoani.com – The official website for the Megaton Musashi anime that will have a second season that will premiere in the fall of 2022.
The first season of the anime premiered on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji on October 1 and is currently airing.
Level 5 founder and president, Akihiro Hino (the original concept of Yo-kai Watch) is credited as the anime’s main director and original author, as well as the anime’s scriptwriter and supervisor. Shigeharu Takahashi (Yo-kai Watch: The Movie) is directing the anime at OLM. Takuzō Nagano (Yo-kai Watch) is said to be designing the original characters, and Yūji Ikeda (Inazuma Eleven) is designing the characters. Toshihiko Kuriaki is noted for conceptual art. Ken’ichirō Saigō (Yo-kai Watch) is composing the music. Ryō Tanaka (Granblue Fantasy the Animation) is the sound director.
The project includes a television anime, game, in collaboration with Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, produced by Bandai, and an internet anime spinoff titled “After School”. Level-5 announced the project in 2016, initially with a tentative start date of summer 2017. The game launched for PlayStation 4 and Switch on November 11.
The story takes place after 90% of humanity was wiped out due to an invasion. The survivors live in a shelter where their lives are monitored, and the memories of the invasion are erased. Three teenagers from the shelter are chosen to control three machines that combine to form the robot Musashi, which is made of a material called Megatronium alloy. The series will combine robot fantasy action with school life.
Each of the different mediums — games, anime, or other mediums — tells the story from the point of view of a different set of characters.
