Kodoani.com – Twitter account for the anime based on the light novel series My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) by author Akumi Agitogi and illustrator Tsukiho Tsukioka (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) announced that the anime will have a second season. In the announcement video, main actors Reina Ueda (as Miyo) and Kaito Ishikawa (as Kiyoka) shared the good news.
Series artist Tsukioka drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement.
The first season of the anime premiered on July 5, and Netflix also began streaming the anime worldwide on the same day. The 12-episode first season and eighth light novel will be accompanied by an original anime titled “Shiawase no Katachi” (The Shape of Happiness) on Blu-ray Disc when it launches on March 15, 2024.

The anime is directed by Takehiro Kubota at Kinema Citrus, with script supervision and editing by Takao Abo. Shōko Yasuda designed the characters, and Yasuharu Takanashi of Team-MAX composed the music for the anime.
The novel series “Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon” by author Akumi Agitogi was released in January 2019 and has received love from readers. Yen Press licensed and published the novel in English.
The story follows Miyo, a girl born into a noble family, and her marriage to Kiyoka, a heartless soldier. The story continues to explore their true love and happiness.
Besides the anime, the story has also been adapted into a manga and live-action film. The live-action version of the story also debuted in Japan in 2023 and achieved great success at the box office.
