Kodoani.com – The official website for the anime series adaptation of the manga My Master Has No Tail (Uchi no Shishō wa Shippo ga Nai) TNSK announced on Friday that the series will premiere September 30 on Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS Asahi. The site also revealed a new image:
The anime was previously scheduled for October.
The fantasy story takes place in the Taishō era of Japan (1912–1926). The story follows Mameda, a shape-shifting tanuki girl who dreams of becoming a human. Mameda transforms her outer appearance into a beautiful crow-haired girl and travels to the bustling city of Osaka. However, everyone immediately saw Mameda’s guise, and a beautiful woman cruelly said to the depressed Mameda, “Go back to where you came from.” As it turned out, the woman named Bunko was a supernatural being who transformed herself into a rakugo storyteller. Mameda begs Bunko to become her master and teach her how to act as a human.
Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood, The Prince of Tennis II, Cells at Work! Code Black) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Touko Machida (Lucky Star, The IDOLM @ STER) is supervising the series scripts and writing them along with Kei Shimobayashi, Aya Satsuki, and Yūho Togashi. Ryō Yamauchi (Kabaneri Of Iron Fortress: Battle of Unato is designing the supporting characters) is serving as both the character designer and the main animation director.
TNSK launched the manga in Good! Afternoon in January 2019 and the manga is continuing.
