Studio Zero-G’s anime adaptation of the mysterious, supernatural-themed disappearance is now out, announced with the first trailer and new key visuals.
Mysterious Disappearance will be directed by Tomomi Mochizuki, who directed episodes for Tsugumomo and the original Urusei Yatsura anime, recently announced additional cast and a special trailer for Season 2. Mochizuki is also in charge. responsible for compiling the series. Takuya Tani (Muv-Luv Alternative) is responsible for character design, Hiyori Denforward Akishino (Saga of Tanya the Evil) is responsible for prop design, with art direction by Toshiyuki Sakae (Birdie Wing) and color design Colored by Miyoko Ichinose (Ascendance of a Bookworm) .
Nujima’s ongoing Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi (Mysterious Disappearance) manga has been published in Shogakukan’s online magazine Yawaraka Spirits since October 2019 and has been collected into six volumes to date. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga in North America, with the first volume due for release in May 2024.
Eri Yukimura (Anri in Blue Lock) was revealed as a new addition, voicing Oto Adashino. Yui Horie (Tsubasa Hanekawa in Monogatari) will voice Manami Uname. Horie has been announced in the upcoming Highspeed Etoile anime, as well as the isekai series My Instant Death Is So OverPowered, which will premiere early during HIDIVE’s Anime NYC panel on November 17, 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment lists the genres of Mysterious Disappearance as comedy, drama, mystery, and supernatural, describing the series as follows: “An aspiring novelist teams up with a mysterious colleague to solve supernatural urban mysteries–and don’t miss the anime!
