The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s Manga Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) has revealed a new visual, promotional video, staff, cast, and premiere in the fall.
Atsumi Tanezaki will play the main character Frieren.
Keiichirō Saitō is directing the anime at Madhouse. Tomohiro Suzuki is in charge of writing the series scripts. Reiko Nagasawa designed the characters. Evan Call will compose the music.
The story is described:
The Elf sorceress Frieren and her brave allies defeated the demon king and brought peace to the land there. The struggle ended, they all separated and lived a quiet life. But to the Elf, Frieren, almost immortal, would live on and outlive the rest of his party’s allies. Will she have to accept that she is immortal and her teammates are not? How did she find satisfaction in her life, and could she learn the meaning of life through the people around her? Frieren embarks on a new adventure to find the answer.
Yamada and Abe launched the manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020. The 10th volume will publish on March 16.
