Anime After-School Hanako-kun will have a four-episode sequel in fall 2024
Kodoani.com – Twitter account for the anime television series Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun officially announced on Thursday the return of its second season. More surprisingly, the short anime After-School Hanako-kun, based on the spin-off manga by Iro Aida, will also return with 4 new episodes in fall 2024.
This information was revealed after the official website of the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun anime announced last December the “restart” of the project.
The anime premiered in Japan in January 2020 with a total of 12 episodes, attracting special attention. Funimation has also joined forces, streaming an English dub and English subtitles online.
Unique Story:
Iro Aida’s manga, described by Yen Press, tells a paranormal story at Kamome Academy, with Hanako-san, a special spirit, occupying the girls’ bathroom on the third floor. But when Nene Yashiro, a high school girl fascinated with secrets, ventures in, she realizes that Hanako-san is not what she thought.
The manga has appeared in Square Enix’s G Fantasy magazine since 2014 and released its 20th compiled volume in August of this year. The After-School Hanako-kun anime premiered on TBS in October, and Crunchyroll simultaneously streamed it in various regions.
Aida’s original manga, which debuted on pixiv Comic in February 2018 and ended with its 25th chapter in October 2021, has received high praise from the reader community.
