Kodoani.com – The official Twitter for the yuri anime adaptation of Mato Satō and Nilitsu’s light novels is The Executioner and Her Way of Life (Shokei Shōjo no Virgin Road) posted a teaser trailer with English subtitles with the first footage of the anime on Friday. The same trailer was also shown at the Anime NYC convention this weekend.
Yen Press is releasing the novel in English and it describes the story:
The Lost Ones are wanderers who came here from a distant world called “Japan”. No one knows how or why they left their homes. The only certainty is that they bring disaster and disaster. The task of destroying them without remorse belongs to Menou, a young Executioner. When she meets Akari, it seems like just another job…until she discovers that it’s impossible to kill this girl! So embark on a journey that will change Menou forever… In addition to being a compelling addition to the once-popular isekai light novel genre, Virgin Road is a compelling release due to the fact. is that it includes elements not commonly found in novels — a female protagonist and a yuri plot.
The main members are:
Iori Saeki as Menou, the executioner. A young executioner girl with a special talent for magic. She is very dedicated to her mission and tries to finish off Akari before her powers get out of hand. She approaches her target with a friendly attitude to grasp their abilities before killing them. Her main weapons are the short sword and the bible.
Moe Kahara as Akari, The Chosen One. She is affectionate and approachable. Menou couldn’t kill her because of her ability even though she herself wasn’t aware of it. She begins her journey with Menou, without knowing her true intentions.
Yoshiki Kawasaki (Ascendance of a Bookworm’s assistant director) is directing the anime at JC Staff, and Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Hyperdimension Neptunia) is supervising the series’ scripts. Keiko Tamaki (Cells at Work’s supporting character designer!) is designing the characters. Jin Aketagawa is directing the sound, and MICHIRU (Ascendance of a Bookworm, Given) is composing the music. EGG FIRM and SB Creative are in production.
SB Creative published the first volume of the novel in July 2019, and the sixth volume shipped on August 15. The novel won the grand prize at the 2018 GA Bunko Awards. Ryō Mitsuya was out. manga adaptation of the novel in the June 2020 issue of Young Gangan magazine.
