With the much-anticipated Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase event less than a week away, the gaming community has had a lot of speculation about what titles might appear during the show’s broadcast. Starfield is expected to be the most prominent in the rollout following its recent delay, and Outer Worlds developer Obsidian Entertainment recently hinted at one of its own. While many gamers were hoping to get a glimpse of Xbox staples like Fable and Hellblade, a recent announcement has revealed Ark 2 will be at the event.

Five and a half years after its initial announcement, the highly anticipated Xbox Series X exclusive is now confirmed to appear on the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase later this week.

Although Studio Wildcard has revealed very little about Ark 2 in the nearly two years since it was revealed, gamers have been able to compile some information from its first trailer. Along with the inclusion of iconic dinosaurs such as the T-Rex and the Pterosaur, the official announcement of Ark 2 also hints at a number of other dinosaurs that will return in the sequel like Parasaur and Triceratops. It’s not clear what Ark 2 will see during the upcoming showcase, but hopefully we’ll get a first look at the gameplay of the next game during the event.
Even though Ark 2 is quite lacking in information, Ark: Survival Evolved has continued to release new content regularly to keep this survival game popular. December saw the release of the Lost Island map that included a ton of different biomes, and Ark was also confirmed to get an animated series along with the Ark 2 reveal. Although gamers will still have to wait a bit longer to play the sequel, Ark: Survival Evolved continues to provide plenty of content for gamers to enjoy in the meantime.
