Kazuhiko Inoue joins voiceover of new character for spring 2022 anime
Television anime official website Ascendance of a Bookworm began streaming a new teaser trailer for the anime’s third season on Tuesday. Video introduction Kazuhiko Inoue voiced the new character Sylvester.
The third season will premiere in the spring of 2022.
Haruka Matsunae joins as the third character designer for the anime along with returning designers Toshihisa Kaiya and Yoshiaki Yanagida. Noriko Otake joined as animation director along with returning animation director Emiko Endo. (Previous animation directors Toshihisa Kaiya and Yoshiaki Yanagida are not credited for the role in the third season, but are credited only as character designers.)
All of the voice actors are returning from previous seasons.
Crunchyroll, which aired the previous two seasons of the television anime of Miya Kazuki’s “biblia” novel, Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujō – Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan o Erandeiramasen), describes the anime’s story:
Ascendance of a Bookworm follows the life of a college student and aspiring librarian Motosu Urano, who is transported to another world after an unfortunate accident. When she reincarnated as Main, the daughter of a poor soldier, she made it her mission to make books more freely available to everyone in this new world.
The first anime season aired in two parts. The first season premiered in October 2019 and ended in December 2019 with 14 episodes. The second season premiered in Japan in April 2020. The original two-part anime (OVA) debuted alongside a limited edition of the series’ first novel in March 2020.
The second season premiered in October 2020.
J-Novel Club is publishing both Suzuka’s light novel and manga adaptation in English.
