Attack on Titan: The Final Season 2 will adapt the remaining chapters of Hajime Isayama’s original manga, which ended a decade-long publication in Japan earlier this year. The manga’s finale was met with mixed reactions from fans as well as professional critics; some liked the emotional ending, while others criticized the rushed pacing of the third act and what were seen as drastic changes to the personalities of some characters near the end. Some disappointed fans have even gone as far as to redraw and reactivate the series’ finale with a different ending. Kodansha USA published the English-language release of Attack on Titan’s final volume earlier this fall, which was released alongside several retailer-exclusive variant covers and other bonus material.
A live stream event for the anime was recently held in Japan on November 14. The executive board has the anime’s cast and crew discuss their time with the film and the upcoming ending. its coming, and also features Yuki Kaji (voicing Eren Jaeger,) Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman), Marina Inoue (Armin Arlert, Storyteller,) Kisho Taniyama (Jean Kirstein), Yuu Kobayashi (Sasha). Blouse) and Ayane Sakura (Gabi Braun). While the live stream has aired, Attack on Titan fans can still purchase access to the on-demand event recording for $29.99 from the production company Pony Canyon. Fans looking to hear from the series’ English voice cast should also plan to attend Anime NYC, which will feature a panel about the series hosted by the series’ international distributor, Funimation.
Attack on Titan was first published in 2009 in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen magazine. The manga was picked up by Kodansha after Isayama’s offer was rejected by Weekly Shonen Jump, Japan’s most popular manga magazine. Despite that initial failure, the series became one of the most commercially successful manga series of all time, with more than 100 million copies sold worldwide. While the anime and manga have come to an end, an American live-action remake of the series is currently in production at Warner Bros. with Muschietti directing.
