Manga based on Shougo Imamura’s Jinkan novel to launch in November
Koji Megumi (Bloody Monday) revealed on Twitter on Friday that he has finished drawing the final chapter of Kangibanka, his manga based on Shogo Imamura’s Jinkan novel.
Megumi launched the manga in November 2020. The manga’s second volume is published on April 16, and the third volume will ship on July 15.
Jinkan tells the story of historical figure Matsunaga Hisahide, often depicted as one of the most antagonistic figures in Japan’s Sengoku period. The book follows Matsunaga’s rise from poverty to one of the warlords vying for supremacy in Japan, until his eventual suicide following defeat at the hands of Oda Nobunaga. The novel was nominated for the Naoki Prize for Literature.
Kodansha Comics published all 11 volumes of the Bloody Monday manga. Author Megumi. Megumi drew the sequels to Bloody Monday Season 2: Pandora no Hako and Bloody Monday: Last Season.
Megumi and Meebu launched the ACMA: game manga in Weekly Shounen magazine in April 2013, and ended it in 2017 with 22 volumes. Megumi and writer Sora Karin launched these Man: Sono Kao o Mita Mono ni wa Shi o manga in Weekly Shounen magazine in April 2018, and ended the manga in 2019 with five volumes.
