Sci-fi manga about humans, interactive robots in pharmaceutical companies to launch in June 2020
This year’s 14th issue of Futabasha’s Manga Action magazine announced on Tuesday that Takashi Murakami will end the Pino manga in the next issue on the 20th.
The story of the sci-fi manga in the near future revolves around Hana, a woman who works in a pharmaceutical company and regularly exchanges her correspondence with Pino, an AI-equipped cyborg. Pino is tasked with taking care of animals that the company regularly uses for medical testing. But one day, Pino undergoes an unexpected change.
Murakami launched the manga in Manga Action in June 2020.
Publisher NBM published Murakami’s one-volume Stargazing Dog manga in 2011. JManga also hosts the manga on its website. The Young Adult Library Service Association division of the American Library Association (YALSA) listed manga as one of the top 10 graphic novels for teenagers in 2013.
Murakami’s Namakemono ga Miteta manga inspired an original anime video in 1988. Murakami also provided the original character designs for the 1996 Harimogu Harley television anime.
