Platinum Games has revealed that the upcoming Bayonetta 3 game will feature some completely new gameplay styles compared to previous installments.
This new Bayonetta 3 trailer not only shows off the protagonist’s brand new outfit, but also some visuals of the new demons under her control.
Since 2017, Bayonetta 3 has been an action title from Platinum Games and Nintendo highly anticipated by gamers. The game went through several years of development with no updates, until last fall’s Nintendo Direct finally delivered what gamers can expect from the title. This new Bayonetta 3 trailer not only shows off the protagonist’s brand new outfit, but also some visuals of the new demons under her control. While retaining the same flashy combat gameplay as the previous installments, there are a lot of elements that will make this third game stand out from its predecessors.
Many gamers have speculated that Bayonetta 3 has a lot of gameplay elements similar to the previously canceled Xbox-exclusive Scalebound project. This is further proven when the main designer of Scalebound is the director of the upcoming Bayonetta game. That information was recently commented by Bayonetta 3 CEO Hideki Kamiya.
In an interview with the latest IGN, Kamiya gave his insight into the upcoming project, specifically pointing out some aspects of the trailer that was shown. He notes that the team has worked really hard on Bayonetta 3 and making it even more different from Bayonetta 1 and 2. Kamiya specifically notes that Bayonetta 3 will come in a “color of its own” and some styling. New gameplay will be introduced to gamers.
Kamiya said that Nintendo hasn’t put in place any restrictions, reassuring fans that this will be “a very Bayonetta game.”
Kamiya also commented on some gamers’ fears that Nintendo may have forced Bayonetta 3 to downplay some of the adult elements. Fortunately, Kamiya says that Nintendo hasn’t put in place any restrictions, further reassuring fans by stating that this will be “a very Bayonetta game.” This means that some of the wild and beloved elements of the series will still be retained in this latest installment, which is not too surprising since Nintendo has not placed any restrictions on the game. According to Platinum Games president Atsushi Inaba, the only element that will be removed from the game is costumes featuring Nintendo’s signature themes, such as the Princess Peach dress. He said that it was a decision made by the developers themselves, not Nintendo because a lot of those skins were already in Bayonetta 2, and that it would be “not fun to always include them in the game.”
