Piccolo is one of Goku’s most powerful allies in Dragon Ball, he is known as a strong character and has the most tactical mind in the series. Initially, Piccolo was an arch-nemesis with Goku. But later on, he reformed and was considered Son Gohan’s master, replacing Goku in teaching this boy during the time when Monkey died.
However, despite being called an intelligent person, Piccolo has also made many serious mistakes. It’s about repeatedly letting some of your deadliest opponents live and then coming back stronger, which often results in Z warriors falling into disrepair.
Before that, Piccolo was just as ruthless as his cruel father, ready to finish anyone he defeated, such as the case of Raditz being mortally wounded at the start of DBZ and Garlic Jr’s henchmen. in the 1989 cartoon Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone. However, in Android Saga, after many years of fighting alongside a group of warriors, Piccolo’s instincts changed. He becomes weaker, easily distracted in battle, especially no longer wants to kill all his opponents.
The first act is when Piccolo fights against Dr. Gero, Piccolo is interrupted by the arrival of Future Trunks and lets Gero escape. Piccolo letting Gero escape death not only allows Android 17 and 18 to be activated again and terrorize the group of warriors, but also leads to a battle that puts the whole Earth in danger from Cell’s threat.
Next is the battle between Piccolo and Cell, facing each other for the first time even though Cell is a formidable foe after absorbing the life energy of thousands of innocent people. But Piccolo also became much stronger after merging with his other half, Kami, to become Super Namekian. When Piccolo was ready to destroy Cell, he was again distracted so that the villain was able to escape using the Solar Flare technique, a move that Piccolo was familiar with but did not react in time. This helps Cell then reach his perfect form and eventually injures everyone in the Cell Games Saga.
This situation was repeated in Dragon Ball Super when Piccolo and the Z Warriors defended Earth from the Galactic Prisoners working under Moro. After defeating these escaped criminals, Piccolo decided to free them, claiming that as long as they immediately leave the planet.
This leads them to report back to Moro, informing their evil boss of the mighty warriors present on Earth. With Moro yearning to absorb power, this led to him making Earth the target of a new invasion. And once again the group of warriors must face these mistakes of Piccolo.
Throughout the Dragon Ball series, Piccolo is certainly not the only character to forgive opponents and then turn them back into a bigger threat than before. Maybe this is the biggest weakness of the warrior group when they have compassion and always forgive their enemies, but this is what makes them heroes in the hearts of fans.
