After winning the World Championship with DRX in 2022, BeryL has become one of the most sought-after players in both the media and the LoL audience. Because, until now, people have really appreciated the power of one of the best Supporters in League of Legends, since the days of the Wolf, Mata. And yet, BeryL also has a special record: playing a key role in 2 championships of 2 different teams.

However, in a recent interview, BeryL also stated that the ability to defend the championship of the LCK teams in 2023 is really difficult. But DRX Support absolutely thinks it’s possible, especially since the LCK teams have shown great performance. Specifically, BeryL said: “There used to be a rumor that there was a “loop” about the World Championship, that when the tournament is held in any region, that region is almost impossible to win. That is also very worrying. and defending the championship is also difficult. But the LCK won Worlds last year (2022), many strong players have returned and so we still have hope.”

In fact, throughout Worlds history, only SKT T1 has been able to defend the championship and there are only 2 regions that can hold the championship for 2 consecutive years, namely the LCK and LPL. However, only Samsung Galaxy White in 2014 was the champion at home. All 3 previous championships of SKT T1 were in tournaments held outside of the LCK region. Even in 2018, the LCK teams still had to look at the LPL region crowned in Incheon after the excellent performance of Invictus Gaming.

However, at the moment, the LCK is showing more stability and strength than the LPL, especially with the return of Viper or the fact that T1 keeps Faker. With quality additions, it is completely within reach for the LCK teams to “break the ball” at the upcoming 2023 Worlds.
