Lucifero may have been defeated, but Asta and his colleagues are still worried. Black Clover Chapter 331 reveals a much more sinister villain.

Mostly due to the existence of Demons, the last few arcs of Black Clover filled with tension. They made it difficult for the Spade Kingdom and targeted the Clover Kingdom, forcing the later strongest mages to fight them. While Asta and his teammates had to lose everything to stop Lucifero and the other Demons, an even more sinister being made his debut in Chapter 331.
To stop Lucifero, the final boss of the “Spade Kingdom Raid”, requires the full cooperation of most of the best magicians of the Clover Kingdom. Asta’s anti-magic played a big part in the battle, while Mimosa’s healing magic was what decided the chaos that followed. However, when the Black Clover announced that it was entering its final round, the Devil’s threat was not over.
With Yami and Nacht out of danger, the magicians of the Clover Kingdom finally have room to breathe. Nacht brought Yuno to meet someone very special – his mother, the current queen of Spade Kingdom. Meanwhile, Asta and Liebe also exchanged thanks for the feats they had achieved in the battle with Lucifero. Even though the people fighting on the front lines were getting a much-needed rest, Julius still felt uncomfortable. He suspected that he had overlooked something, and that was reinforced when Damnatio brought him in to visit and report the findings of his research on the Devil.
According to Damnatio, there are three demons that rule the underworld, with the first two being Lucifero of gravity magic and Beelzebub of space magic. Astaroth’s time magic is the Last Devil, and Damnatio theorizes that Megicula may have come from Astaroth’s ancestors. The curious discovery, however, is that throughout history there has been only one magic user: the Sorcerer King, Julius Novachrono.
It is commonly known that Julius Novachrono is the most powerful living mage in Black Clover, able to even seek death once by being said to have saved several years of his life. Now that he turns out to be a Devil – and one of the rulers of the Underworld at the time – he could prove to be a greater threat than Lucifero. It could easily be argued that he possessed magical power on par with Lucifero, but Lucius Zogratis – Julius’ demon – did not look down on humans. He is also more cunning and cunning than Lucifero, as shown when he is said to have predicted this event.
With the Sorcerer King ranked as the big boss of the Black Clover manga, Asta and the gang have tougher days ahead. Julius in human form was already a force to be reckoned with, so his Devil form was probably exponentially stronger. Now it begs the question of how Asta will defeat her idol and her goals – especially since Lucius possesses some kind of taming magic.
