Kodoani.com – Website for the anime series “BLUE LOCK -Episode Nagi-” – a spinoff of the football manga “Blue Lock” by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and artist Yūsuke Nomura – released a trailer on Thursday and revealed an official spring 2024 premiere date.
The anime series will feature the voice cast and creative staff from the television anime version. Shunsuke Ishikawa, assistant director of the television anime version, will direct the series at 8-Bit production company. Taku Kishimoto, who has participated in writing scripts for many famous works such as “Haikyu!!” and “Silver Spoon,” will oversee and write the script for the film, with story oversight from manga author Muneyuki Kaneshiro. Yūsuke Nomura will continue to design the characters for the film, and Jun Murayama will be responsible for the music.

The spin-off manga centers on the character Seishirou Nagi before he joins the Blue Lock soccer training program.
The original manga “Blue Lock” was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in August 2018. The television anime version “BLUE LOCK” premiered in Japan in October 2022 and is currently getting a second season.
