In the afternoon of January 6 (Vietnam time), the Korean League of Legends community was stirred up by the fact that former Griffins player and current LCK player Wadid were found to be sharing a game account with others. The case was discovered after it was discovered that an ID with a numbered name appeared on Wadid’s chat channel. The former G2 Esports star initially denied the incident, but after there was evidence that Wadid had played with this ID a few times, he could no longer deny it.
Wadid used to be a member of G2 Esports and is currently a BLV LCK
Wadid posted a confession as well as an apology on his personal Instagram, at the same time asserting that he had intended to “cover the sky with one hand”. In addition, Wadid also said that he “freezes” all his activities in the village of League of Legends and accepts all responsibility for the behavior he has performed.
Wadid admitted to sharing accounts, apologized and said he had suspended all activities in the village of League of Legends.
In the LCK in particular and the League of Legends community in general, using the same game account is extremely sensitive. Riot itself also has a law related to this to minimize plowing. Remember, when Worlds 2021 was about to start. DWG KIA’s Canyon itself also violated the law when he used the game account of a DWG KIA employee in an exchange game with female singer Kang Hye-won – a former member of IZ*ONE.
Canyon also had a similar incident right before Worlds 2021
And this incident is also of great interest to the VCS community. But the reason is not because Wadid is famous in the Vietnamese LoL village, but this incident reminds me of the drama Zeros – Optimus. At that time, Zeros shared an account with Minas and was discovered by Optimus. However, when the former GAM Esports star denounced Zeros, most of the comments were aimed at criticizing him and saying that Optimus was playing bad. Even then, many influential figures in the League of Legends community also attacked Optimus.
Optimus charges Zeros with similar behavior to Wadid and Canyon
And Optimus is criticized by many people
On the part of Wadid, some VCS fans “recall the old story” to mock the “prison king” Zeros and those who attacked Optimus in what year.
Some VCS fans mentioned the old days and the Zeros coffee as well as the people who attacked Optimus in that year.
Riot has extremely strict rules for actions that can lead to plowing and fighting in rank, especially for professional players. Complying with the general rules of the game and forging themselves is the only way for League of Legends players in general and the VCS region in particular to develop sustainably.
