In episode 217 of Boruto, Naruto’s gift of chakra to Kawaki turns out to be Isshiki’s greatest asset during the brutal war outside Konoha.
In the Boruto anime, fans finally get to see Naruto confront Isshiki Ōtsutsuki when the aliens try to claim Kawaki as his vessel. It’s been a long time, Sasuke and Boruto are also trying to help the Hokage. Luckily, they hid Kawaki in Konoha, undetectable along with Shikamaru, Amado, and the rest, but while Naruto’s Baryon mode gave him the upper hand, it also became Isshiki’s greatest asset.
This mode gave Naruto full access to Kurama’s Nine-Tails Demox Fox chakra, turning him into a true god. At this point, he surpassed even the Sage of the Six Paths, even Sasuke was shocked at this strength.
Baryon Mode allows Naruto to move and fly at the speed of light, knocking out Isshiki with ease. The difficulty, however, is that once this chakra starts to deplete, both Naruto and Kurama can die, which starts to happen when he attacks Isshiki. With Kawaki rocking a prosthetic hand that has been imbued with Naruto’s chakra, it acts like a beacon when Isshiki touches and feels the energy connection. It’s tough for the villain at first but Baryon mode allows access to the signal like never before, with Isshiki then opening a portal and teleporting the child inside.
That’s what Isshiki was trying to do with the host that would be his host for a while in Boruto, and sadly, the Baryon mode inadvertently forged a bond when Kawaki’s arm stopped working due to the self.
