Kumakuzu draws new manga about idol industry Watashi no Arika
Kodoani.com – The first 2023 issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine revealed on Monday that Moyashi Fujisawa and Kumakuzu will launch a new manga titled Watashi no Arika (The Way I Am, pictured right in the image below) in the combined second and third issues of the magazine on December 12. Fujisawa writes the story, Kumakuzu paints. The manga will have an opening coloring page.
The magazine presents the manga as a gripping story about the idol industry centered on an incident involving an idol group whose star is rapidly rising to the top.
Fujisawa serialized the Burn the House Down (Mitarai-ke Enjō Suru) manga in Kodansha’s Kiss magazine from 2017 to 2021, and Kodansha has published eight volumes for the manga. Kodansha USA Publishing is publishing the manga in English and released the fifth volume on October 25. The manga is getting a live-action film adaptation that will premiere on Netflix worldwide in 2023.
