On the afternoon of August 5, MAPPA’s YouTube livestream officially announced that the Chainsaw Man anime will air this October. Studio MAPPA is producing under the direction of director Ryu Nakayama. The livestream also announced the third trailer featuring the voiceover for the Chainsaw Man anime.
The new trailer is available on MAPPA Channel’s official YouTube channel, which has been updated with English subtitles.

Crunchyroll describes the story of the Chainsaw Man:
“Denji is an unfortunate teenage boy who lives with a Saw demon named Pochita. Due to the debt left by his father, he has to live a life at the bottom of society while struggling to make a living as an amateur demon hunter.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed in the most cruel way. When his consciousness fades, Denji makes a pact with Pochita and is resurrected as the Chainsaw Man – a human with an evil heart.
Author Fujimoto (Fire Punch) launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018. Shueisha published the 11th volume of the manga on March 4, 2021. The manga ended its “first part” as the “Kōan” (Public Safety) arc in December 2020. The second part of the manga, “Gakkō-hen” (School Arc), will serialize on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website. As of March 2021, the manga has 9.3 million physical copies published.
The manga was nominated for the 13th Manga Taisho Awards in 2020 and came in at #4 on Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!). The manga won the Best Shōnen Manga Award during the 66th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2021. In addition, the manga is at the top of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! year 2021.
