Recently, Riot Games has officially announced the details of the plan to balance and edit Valorant agents in the future.
Riot revealed in the latest State of the Agents blog post that Chamber will be nerfed because he is “too strong”. Meanwhile, other agents like Fade and Cypher will also be tweaked in the future.
Chamber has been one of the most loved agents in both ranked and pro with his flanking ability and ease of teleporting from any danger. Previously, this agent was nerfed a bit in Patch 5.03 with all of his skills including Trademark, Rendezvous, Tour De Force and Headhunter being nerfed.
With Chamber, this agent is highly likely to experience even more nerfs in the future as he is still dominating the pro scene. Chamber was named the number 1 agent at Valorant Champions with a record high ban/pick.
Fade was the second most popular agent at Valorant Champions with a 53.85% pick rate. Because this agent has had an overwhelming presence since its introduction into the game and Riot might be nerfing a bit. Riot says Fade’s performance is exceeding expectations as an Initiator and that her skill set will be “tuned” in the future.
On the other hand, Cypher has one of the lowest pick rates at Valorant Champions at 6.92%, the lowest of all available Sentinel agents. He may face changes in the future but Riot did not provide details. “We’re scrutinizing Cypher to find out what updates he might need to find his niche in the Sentinel lineup,” Riot said.
Riot finally confirmed that previous changes to agents like Phoenix have also succeeded with this Duelist’s win rate in rankings increasing.
