Transformers has returned with a whole new direction in Rise of the Beasts.
Transformers is entering a new era, a new direction after the end of Bumblebee. Director Michael Bay has officially said goodbye to this franchise, and the name chosen to replace him is Steven Caple Jr.
Recently, the first blockbuster of Transformers under the new dynasty, titled Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, has suddenly revealed an extremely monumental and impressive official trailer. In addition to the return of familiar Autobot heroes like Optimus Prime or Bumblebee, the 7th Transformers movie also brings to the silver screen many new super monsters, with three main forces being Maximals, Terrorcons and Predacons.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is inspired by the Beast Wars comic book series, set in the 90s after Bumblebee’s arrival on Earth. The remarkable point in the trailer above is that the robot models can transform into giant animals, not just cars like previous movies.
So what exactly are these robot models and what power do they possess?

The trailer opens with Optimus Prime clashing with a chimpanzee robot known as Optimus Primal. According to the original design, Primal was only the size of a common gorilla, meaning it was not much larger than a human. However, according to the photo above, it can be seen that Paramount Pictures has decided to build the Optimus Primal image in accordance with its main inspiration – King Kong.
Primal is not Prime’s enemy. Instead, it appeared to warn of an impending disaster, as darkness rose on Earth. In the following scenes, it can be seen that this gorilla robot can use dual swords to fight enemies, like the design of the original Optimus Primal toy model.

Next, we have the Battletrap, a robot model with an orange-black design (not the blue-gray Battletrap in the 1987 version). Battletrap is a member of the Terrorcons, and is also the object that Primal wants to target when it comes to the event “darkness is gradually drawing to Earth”.
Arcee (voiced by Liza Koshy) and Wheeljack (Cristo Fernández) will also return in Rise of the Beasts – Photo: Paramount Pictures
Arcee will return after appearing briefly in the blockbuster Bumblebee. Arcee’s design in the robot state has not changed much, although she can now transform into a motorcycle with eye-catching red and white colors. Since Rise of the Beasts is set in the 90s, it can be understood that this is the original form of Arcee. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen bus running next to her is Wheeljack.
Cheetor, one of the very popular Maximal – Photo: Paramount Pictures
This giant leopard robot named Cheetor, one of the most famous Maximals, and also a very popular character in Beast Wars. Based on the segment above, when Cheetor runs alongside the first generation Bumblebee, it can be seen that the cinematic Maximals will be very large. Besides, in some later scenes of the trailer, we can see Cheetor’s robot form, with the claws on the back of his hand quite similar to the Marvel mutant Wolverine.
Airazor is voiced by Michelle Yeoh (Picture: Paramount Pictures .)
Only appeared briefly, but die-hard Transformers fans can still recognize this as Airazor, another Maximals and a few female characters in Beast Wars. Airazor even fused with Tigatron to become Tigerhawk – one of the most powerful Maximal of all time.
Rhinox – Photo: Paramount Pictures
Rhinox will also appear in Rise of the Beasts with powerful weapons to blow up enemies. Rhinox can be considered the second leader after Optimus Primal, and often carries the image of a father to younger Maximals, especially Rattrap. Unfortunately, this character does not appear in the trailer above.

Bumblebee will also return in the upcoming Transformers blockbuster. Previously, this character’s odd movie of the same name, released in 2018, has achieved a lot of success and left many positive impressions in the hearts of fans.

Unfortunately, shortly after, Bumblebee was “pierced by another robot”. Based on the exterior design, this could be Scourge, the leader of the Terrorcons. In this movie, Scourge will be a hunter working for the Decepticon Galvatron. Therefore, it is possible that he is still not the “final boss” of Rise of the Beasts.
Nightbird appears briefly and incompletely in the trailer – Photo: Paramount Pictures
Nightbird, another Terrorcon will also appear in the upcoming Transformers blockbuster. This is a ninja robot in the first generation, created by Dr. Fujiyama to help humanity. However, the trailer above only shows a very small part of Nightbird (purple – black robot) that if we don’t pay close attention, we will easily miss it.
Regarding the cast, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts owns a lot of famous faces to voice its epic robots. Among them are Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Ron Perlman (Optimus Primal), Pete Davidson (Mirage), Michelle Yeoh (Airazor), Liza Koshy (Arcee), Cristo Fernández (Wheeljack), Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Nightbird). , John DiMaggio (Stratosphere) and especially Peter Dinklage (Scourge).
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be released in 2023, and has not yet set a specific release date.
