In a recent sharing, Chris Hemsworth hinted that Thor: Love and Thunder will be his last film as the God of Thunder.
Just recently, an Australian actor said, maybe Thor: Love & Thunder will be his last movie in the MCU. Many fans also pointed out that the dialogue about Thor in the trailer uses “past tense”, so be ready for what’s to come.
Before that, Chris Hemsworth also expressed his desire to continue accompanying the role of Thor for many more years. However, the decision lies with Marvel, they have a specific plan for each character in the MCU and whether Chris goes or stays depends on whether Marvel wants to continue to explore this character or not?
However, many fans are not worried about the Australian actor’s statement, because they know that they cannot completely trust the words that the Marvel actor says. Even let’s say Chris Hemsworth received information about Thor: Love & Thunder being the last movie, but maybe this is just a “trick” from Kevin Feige. To remind everyone, in the past, there was also news that No Way Home would be Spider-Man’s final journey in the MCU, and now we are about to have three more Spider-Man movies.
Thor: Love and Thunder is the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok Apocalypse (2017), which will also be the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is produced by Marvel Studios and released by Walt Disney in 2022. The film is directed by Taika Waititi and written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. The film stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor alongside Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Russell Crowe. In the film, Thor recruits Valkyrie (Thompson), Korg (Waititi) and Jane Foster (Portman) — now Mighty Thor — to stop Gorr the God-slayer (Bale) from destroying all the gods.
Thor 4 is scheduled to premiere on July 8, 2022, in Phase 4 of the MCU.
The film will feature the song “Rainbow in the Dark” by Dio, according to Wendy Dio, widow of band member Ronnie James Dio. In December 2021, Michael Giacchino revealed that he would be recording for the film; he previously recorded Doctor Strange: The Ultimate Wizard (2016) and Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy, as well as Waititi’s previous film Jojo Rabbit (2019).
Thor: Love and Thunder is set after the events of Avengers: The End (2019), Thor tries to find inner peace, but is interrupted when Gorr – The God Slayer threatens to eliminate all the gods. To eliminate the threat before it’s too late, Thor recruits the newly appointed king of the New Asgard Valkyrie, along with Korg and Jane Foster, who has become Mighty Thor, to all rally together and fight Gorr.
