Previously, we could get the Member Card in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games through the Mystery Gift event. Once the player has defeated the Four Heavenly Kings and the Champion, they will earn the National Dex. With the National Dex in hand, the player can use the Member Card to enter the Inn in Canalave City, then sleep on one of the beds there. Doing so will allow us to travel to Newmoon Island, where the player can face Darkrai in battle and then attempt to capture it.

We can trade this creature from other players, and there are likely to exist many players of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl who have grown tired of Darkrai after a long time using it to fight.
