If you don’t read or watch the news about Cult of the Lamb, many of you will think that this is a game for children, but in fact this is a very attractive rougelite game with a small theme. What game dares to talk about is religion.
You will play the leading sheep (a metaphorical image) resurrected by an entity called The One Who Waits with the noble task of building his own cult to provide the strength to he can escape the seal. But your task is not simply to recruit disciples, but also to build a place for them to live, even to be able to bring that disciple to a safe place, you also have to organize crusades into the lands of the gods, entities confronting The One Who Waits.
To do that you will be caught in an almost endless loop: go to battle other entities, collect items, take care of your disciples, upgrade yourself or your base to fight. However, this loop is not boring but extremely interesting and attractive when there are many things waiting for you to discover. Basically Cult of the Lamb is a roguelite dungeon crawler game with a map that changes every time you step in, so your experience won’t be the same even if you have to go back there nearly a dozen times to do things. side quests, each of these crusades doesn’t take too long when only about 10 minutes with decent equipment, you can safely defeat the boss at the end. If there is anything to complain about this part, I think that the difficulty of the game is still a bit low compared to long titles like Hades or Rogue Legacy and the game should learn more in the Curse Of The Dead Gods game that allows gamers to Choose from starter weapons to increase your autonomy in your adventures. That doesn’t mean the game’s combat is bad even though Cult of the Lamb doesn’t have a complicated combat system with almost only one button hit, dodge and curse system, but they all have their own strengths. What you need to master to be able to overcome the challenges.
Personally, if I give it a score, the combat part of the game will be at 7/10 and the real highlight of the gameplay is in the management. During the crusades you will encounter countless enemies of various sizes, but they will turn back to the size of the main character and become a companion after being defeated. You will have to allocate tasks for each character to both maintain their stats and ensure the growth of the whole church. In the beginning, this is quite extreme when you will have to take on many different positions, but watching your base grow more and more gives you an indescribable feeling of unicorn. But later on, you will have to face more difficulties as well as death, first with too many sheep, it will be difficult for you to know who is doing what and who is sitting idle many times. I sacrificed one of my very hard-working friends by mistake, and there will come a time when you will have to choose whether to stay loyal to your previous master or gather your own power to become an independent god. All of those choices will be in your hands, but keep in mind the price of betrayal is very high.
In terms of sound, they are not so great, but they have done well their role of creating comfort when enjoying a game with a difficult-to-reach theme like Cult of the Lamb, but it will turn on many parents. will regret buying this game because of the game’s cover even though I think they’ll enjoy playing the game as well.
